2016! Erykah Badu's But You Caint Use My Phone mixtape came after a 5 year hiatus from releasing any new music. Working with producer Zach Witness she concocted a sound that fused hip hop, R&B, jazz, and art rock. The duo references a diverse collection of artists including Isley Brothers, Usher, Egyptian Lover and New Edition. They offer up a reworking of Uncle Jamm's Army's "Dial-A-Freak," and of course there's that Drake cover that helped reintroduce Badu on here. Also featuring a collab with baby daddy Andre 3000.
